Gone are the days of creating a plaster model of your teeth.
With SureSmile, 3-D images of your teeth are captured using
the hand-held SureSmile OraScanner®, which functions like a
video camera. Sophisticated 3-D treatment planning software is
then used to build a virtual model of your teeth. Drs. Jacobson
and Martin then use this information to plot individual tooth movements
throughout the course of your SureSmile treatment. 3-D "mapping" of tooth movement
allows for a more efficient bracket and archwire system to be designed. Once your computerized treatment
plan is complete, it is sent to the SureSmile Service Center for your customized archwires.
SureSmile uses state-of-the-art robotic technology to fabricate your "shape-memory alloy" archwires based on
the detailed requirements of your individual treatment plan. These "smart" wires, which permanently retain
the custom bends, are made from the most effective materials used in orthodontics today. This results in your
